Abstract

Different permanent-magnet (PM) arrangements possess great influences on the machine performances. In this digest, investigation on the inclination angle of the inserted-PM sets in double-stator (DS) vernier machines is carried out. Through changing the flux concentration mode, the PM inclination affects the harmonic spectrum distribution and torque performance. Specific conclusions are revealed through comparative study with representative machine topologies, and thus the optimal PM arrangement candidates for DS-PM vernier machines have been obtained.
