Abstract
The issue of dynamic gain clamping for Raman amplifier was experimentally investigated. The gain fluctuation was clamped to a lower level with the optical feedback loop efficiently. The optical lasing wavelength was found to be dependent on the Raman gain profile, fiber length and pump powers in the experiment. A gain clamping was achieved when clamping wavelength was in relatively low gain regime and multi-wavelengths clamping technique was adopted.
