Abstract
A study was conducted to demonstrate the operation the primary jet at supersonic condition where it was appropriate to consider the momentum ratio in place of the velocity ratio. Pressure measurements were conducted by acquiring the stagnation pressure at various downstream locations in the jet. A rake constructed by five Pitot static tubes mounted on a three-axis traverse mechanism was used to perform the pressure measurement. Pitot tubes were mounted and separated by 12.75 mm and each probe was connected to a pressure transducer. The results for the solid tab were found to be consistent with the findings of earlier investigations conducted Zaman and a team of researchers. It was observed that the supersonic jet results were found to be qualitatively similar to the subsonic jets results obtained earlier the researchers.
