Abstract

Recently, there has been interest in using tunable lasers for interrogating Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors in serial topology for improving signal to noise ratio and for multiplexing a large number of sensors. However, there are drawbacks in using serial topology. This article discusses the results of recent theoretical investigation and computer simulations aimed at overcoming these drawbacks.
