Abstract

The internationalization is crucial for the global reputation of Hong Kong universities. The key factor associated with university/destination choice for the most qualified students is the quality of education. Meanwhile, international students are additionally likely to seek a package of experiences that extends beyond their academic focus. The overall travel experience is critical for long-term student satisfaction. This study is aimed at examining the decision-making process of a potential international student who is interested in studying in a globally reputable university. Such a student is likely to be interested in exploring diverse cultures, seeking sensation, and enjoying the novelty of the destination where his/her university is located. Therefore, it is important to determine the attributes of highly competitive universities to potential international students in terms of providing a pleasant travel experience during their residence in the host community affiliated with their universities.
