Abstract
Recovered fluctuating velocity vectors obtained from conditional sampling measurements in the intermediate merging zone and in the fully merged zone of coaxial jet of mean velocity ratio λ-1 = Ui/Uo = 0.3 show the presence of a w-vortex and outer vortices. Recovered uR isocontours suggest that the w-vortex has strong mode one constituent. Interaction between the vortices brings about a change in their convection velocities. It is also observed that one of the parameters which may affect their interaction and decay is their relative spatial separation.
