Abstract

In order to be safely used in the 2008 Olympic Games, the currently existing gymnasiums should be taken for evaluating their safety of utilization. As the structural analysis and fire simulation have been developed to work separately in previous works, the normal loads and fire actions have not been able to be taken into account together. This paper presents a newly developed integrated system-SFSAS, for both of structural analysis and fire simulation. The computer model of a gymnasium can be used for both structural analysis and fire simulation in the system. Based on the structural analysis under temperature loads due to a fire that is designed according to the risk analysis, the fire protection degree for the components in a structure can be quantitated. In this paper, the solutions as well as a case study are presented and discussed in details.
