Integration of Distributed Sensing into Optical Coherent Networks through Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access

Abstract

We introduce NOMA into the integrated distributed sensing and coherent communications. Using the same transmitter, high resolution and sensitive vibration sensing can be achieved over 10-km 60-GBaud 16-QAM transmission with negligible penalty.
