Abstract
We demonstrate a novel in-line dispersion monitoring technique using phase-modulated in-band subcarrier tones. Our technique has no subcarrier-to-data crosstalk, high sensitivity, and large monitoring range. A >3400 ps/nm monitoring range and <9 (ps/nm)/dB sensitivity are shown for a 10Gb/systm.
