Abstract
We report the use of a digital matched filter for enhancing the wavelength detection accuracy in fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors. The filter can be used to recover the Bragg wavelength from an FBG signal of a low signal-to-noise ratio. A wavelength detection accuracy of 1.8 pm was experimentally achieved from a noisy spectrum.
