Abstract
This paper presents a study on compression mechanism of a typical warp-knitted spacer fabric. A theoretical model based on elastica theory was developed to describe the compressive behavior of the fabric by introducing the effect of its complex structure of the spacer yarns. A comparison between the experimental data and results of theoretical calculation was also conducted.
