Abstract

Integrated starter and generator (ISG) can be applied on both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles. High starting torque and wide working speed range are main features of ISG for quick starting and wide speed range generating coupling with the engine. But it is difficult for motor drives to be large torque and large power at high speed at the same time. A novel hybrid switched reluctance motor drives are developed to achieve this high performance. A new flux weaken control is produced. A motor drive is set up and the experiment results show it with torque and speed characteristics suitable for being as ISG.
