Abstract
A hybrid simulation algorithm based on dynamic phasor (DP) technology was proposed to accelerate the simulation speed of power system including nonlinear devices. The DP model of static var compensator (SVC) considering harmonic characteristics was founded. Based on network decomposition method, the external subsystem was represented with conventional quasi-steady state model. SVC was simulated with DP model, and was interfaced into conventional transient stability program (TSP) as electromagnetic subsystem. The information exchange and simulation interaction of two subsystems were implemented by interface bus. Then the TSP-DP hybrid simulation of whole system was accomplished. Case studies were performed on systems of IEEE 9-bus and New-England 39-bus which included a SVC. Simulation results show that the TSP-DP method has the same precision as DCG EMTP simulation and improves the efficiency over twofold than conventional hybrid simulation method.
