Abstract
A novel Pt based triplet emitter with broadband yellow-red emission Pt-1, was employed in the fabrication of white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs). This broadband emission was a result of the combined effect of monomer and excimer emission of the Pt compound. By mixing Pt-1 with a deep-blue fluorescent emitter, 4,4′-bis(9-ethyl-3-carbazovinylene)-1,1′-biphenyl (BCZVBi), a high color-rendering index of 95.6 hybrid WOLED was demonstrated. This high color quality WOLED incorporated only two emitters, thus simplifying the fabrication procedures compared to the three or more emitters WOLEDs and cutting down the cost, which makes it an ideal candidate for display and lighting applications.
