Abstract
We investigate the impact of off-center optical filtering plus electronic equalization for 10-Gb/s directly-modulated systems. Simulation results show the transmission distance over standard single-mode fiber is increased >6-times (from <25-km to >150-km) without optical dispersion compensation.
