Abstract

It is difficult to get robust deformation results using conventional differential InSAR method, due to lack of enough SAR images jointly used in SAR interferometry. Small baseline subset (SBAS) DInSAR algorithm is used to monitor the temporal evolution of surface deformation in mining area. A temporal deformation sequence of Lengshuijiang mining area of Hunan province is retrieved from DInSAR phase based on virtual observation method and SBAS algorithm. The retrieved deformation sequence reveals the development and evolution of the subsidence "bowl" of the mining area. The result demonstrates that the constraints of small spatial baseline limits the propagation of DEM error and at the same time the method of virtual observation improves the accuracy and robustness of deformation monitoring with InSAR.
