Abstract
The paper presents general views on fire aspects of atrium building in Hong Kong. Designers follow overseas codes and research since there are no full set of codes and regulations being followed in Hong Kong to govern atrium design. Also discussed are fire safety considerations in atrium development plus compartmentation and pressurization are accepted as the effective methods in confining fire and smoke.
