Abstract

Highlights: The theory and numerical methods for microfluidic devices are briefly introduced. The materials and recent advanced microfabrication methods for functional microfluidic devices are summarized. Recent novel microfluidic devices with various promising functions and applications are presented. The challenges and future developments of functional microfluidics for the specific purpose of carbon neutrality are predicted.
