Abstract
The authors present an original study of, an aperture-coupled cylindrical microstrip antenna. The rigorous full wave spectral domain approach uses Green functions for a conducting cylinder with internally or externally coated dielectric substrate to set up integral equations. The Galerkin technique, with entire-domain basis functions is applied to solve the integral equations. Results for the rectangular patch are compared with measurements. It is demonstrated that the input impedance is significantly affected by the size of the cylinder.
