Abstract

In this chapter, the principle, structure, and classification of flow batteries are briefly introduced. The key materials of single cells and their optimized methods are reviewed from electrode and membrane to electrolyte. Then, the stack and system of flow batteries are analyzed to find design conditions. Finally, the application and future development of flow batteries are discussed.
