Abstract
Flexural performance of notched concrete beams externally bonded with carbon fiber (CF) sheets through various bonding systems was experimentally evaluated. Two types of sheet geometries (conventional sheet and new strand sheet) and three types of adhesive bonding systems (normal adhesive bonding, ductile adhesive bonding, and a hybrid use of two of them) were applied. The new CF strand sheet proves its superiority to the conventional CF sheet. In addition, the hybrid bonding
system can achieve optimized flexural performance at both the serviceability and ultimate states.
