Abstract

Fire safety aspects for Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong were discussed in this paper. Local regulations and existing fire safety provisions were surveyed. Fire safety provisions in a typical restaurant were reported. The licensing requirements were outlined. Fire environment was predicted by a two-layer zone model. It is found that big restaurants might not give so many problems related to fire safety. Further, fire safety management should be watched carefully.
