N2 - Concrete filled double skin steel tube (CFDST) is a new type of composite constructional element. Much research has been conducted on its performance in ambient temperature, whereas less attention has paid to the behaviour at elevated temperatures. This paper reports the FE analysis of the temperature distribution in concrete filled double skin tubes exposed to standard fire temperature. The effect of different heat contact conductance models for steel-concrete interfaces in FE model on predicted temperatures was investigated. Finally, temperature distribution in CFDST was discussed through comparing the temperature distribution in some typical concrete filled steel tubes (CFST) and CFDST elements.
