Abstract

Based on experiments, a theoretical model for calculating the self-stress of reinforced self-stressing concrete is proposed. The efficient expansive coefficient is put forward to show how the ratio of efficient free expansion to free expansion increment changes with the steel ratio and the concrete age. An analysis model by finite element method is deduced. This model includes the expansion deformation and the creep deformation and their changes with concrete age. It can be used to analyze the expanding process of reinforced self-stressing concrete structures with any reinforcement type and boundary conditions.
