Abstract
This paper reports a series of field tests on the performance of a staircase pressurization system installed in a commercial building. The NBS/ASHRAE airflow network model proposed by Klote and Fothergill (1983) was used to simulate the system. After comparing the measured field test results with those simulated by the computer model, modification to the model is proposed. Finally, recommendations are proposed for improving the design of a smoke control system.
