Abstract

The field test on evaluating the operational performance of a multiple injection staircase pressurization system installed in a commercial building is reported. Parameters such as the pressure differences and the airflow rates under the normal operation conditions were measured. However, results were not satisfactory and did not even comply with the current statutory requirements. Recommendation is made to modify the system with the aid of the computer program ASCOS. The airflow rate injecting to the staircase is suggested to be increased up to 18.6 m3s˜' when all the doors are opened.
