Abstract

We propose a compact tip-reflection fiber-optic vibration sensing system that uses a lateral-offset tilted fiber grating (TFBG) as sensor head and a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) as light source. Dynamic mechanical vibration measurement up to 200 Hz with signal-to-noise ratio better than 30 dB has been achieved.
