Abstract
The design of a fiber Bragg grating sensor for the measurement of static and dynamic measurands including strain and temeperature were discussed. The sensor was used for measuring the average and fluctuating temperature in the investigation of heat transfer characteristics of cylinders. The system was capable of being extended for multi-point operation by using wavelength division multiplexing techniques.
