Abstract

In recent decades, CFRP (namely, Carbon Fiber Reinforce Polymer) has been applied widely in civil engineering due to its advantages including low weight, good corrosion resistance, free maintenance, no ferromagnetic properties and flexible manufacturing procedures. Specially, it has been proved that good fatigue behavior of CFRP can also be utilized in strengthening structures such as repairing steel beams under fatigue. Based on fatigue criteria and strength criteria in GB50017-2003, available life is defined for steel beams under fatigue, which can meet both the fatigue design standard and strength design standard. Moreover, based on previous experiments and numerical calculations, this paper developed a program called "EasyFatigueforFSS" including two designs orienting to available life and allowable stress results, which can meet different needs in practical design.
