Abstract
The mechanical behaviour of AS4 carbon fibre (CF) reinforced polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) laminates, made from commingled unifabric prepreg was investigated under tensile static and tension-tension fatigue loadings. A statistical model was applied to simulate the residual strength and fatigue life using the fatigue performance of unidirectional laminates, based on a stress redistribution function defined from a shear-lag analysis. Predictions of fatigue performance are compared with experimental data for CF/PEEK [02,902]2s composite laminates and good agreements are obtained.
