Abstract
In this study, dual-mode Janus fabric with photothermal conversion (heating mode) and solar heat shielding (cooling mode) abilities for personal thermal management is fabricated. The resultant fabric has a heating function when the ZrN side of the fabric is facing towards the sun, and cooling function when the TiO2 side of the fabric is facing away from the sun for solar heat shielding. The Janus fabric can reflect nearly 90% of the solar rays in the cooling mode and absorb about 70% of the solar irradiance in the heating mode. The findings of this work offer a novel strategy to fabricate a dual-mode fabric and promote future related applications in the textile industry for personal thermal management.
