Abstract

(K0.5Na0.5)0.4(Sr0.6Ba0.4)0.8Nb2O6(KNSBN) powders and thin films were prepared by the sol-gel method. The sol was formed by using 2-methoxyethanol as both the solvent and the sol stabilizer. Powders were obtained by drying the KNSBN sol, and annealed at different temperatures. Films of 650 nm thick were deposited by dip coating method. Structural changes in these sol-gel derived KNSBN samples were monitored by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy (RS) as a function of annealing temperature. Complete conversion to the tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) structure were obtained at 1,200°C and 800°C for KNSBN powders and films respectively.
