Abstract
Fabric is the manufactured assembly of fibers and/or yarns. In the conversion of materials to fabrics, the fabric making technology has a great impact on the properties and appearance of the resulting fabrics. This chapter presents commonly used fabric manufacturing technologies and their recent developments including weaving, knitting, nonwoven manufacturing, and braiding. For each type of fabric making technology, different kinds of machines for the formation of fabric, the resultant fabric structure, and properties as well as the applications of the fabrics are also discussed.
