Abstract

This paper was presented at the International Conference Textile Science '98 in Liberec, Czech Republic. It reports on a study which developed a systematic method to provide a practical way for measuring fabric loss. Experiments in a local shirt factory demonstrated the types of fabric losses in the cutting room. With such data, management can take practical steps to reduce waste.
