Abstract

This research aims to explore the possibility of extracting language concepts and semantic associates through the diachronic construction of cross-linguistic knowledge resources based on the framework of an existing fine-grained ontological system developed by the Sinica BOW Tang 300 poems project. The authors attempt to provide language educators with a different perspective of instructional design by understanding and meeting L2 learners’ needs through the in-depth analysis of massive bilingual language data. It is hoped that synergized linguistic knowledge net(s) could better facilitate L2 Chinese language teaching and learning.
