Abstract

In recent years, Flash movies are experiencing a breathtaking growth and have become one of the most prevailing media formats on the Web. Different from other media formats such as image or video, Flash movies contain various types of elements including not only heterogeneous media components, but also dynamic effects and interactions. How to model these elements properly plays an important role in Flash retrieval. In this paper we present a novel approach for modeling Flash movies in terms of spatial, motive and interactive relationships among these elements. Associated facilities, including a database schema design and query modules, are also implemented to realize the modeling method.
