Abstract

A new theory of energy concept is analyzed in the paper, namely energy factor, that is to develop the relationship of the energy stored in all passive components and its energy through put in the system. Maximum variation of energy factor (MVEF) is the key factor for the analysis and that the characteristics of MVEF for Cuk, Zeta and Sepic converters are investigated. The boundary condition of the continuous and discontinuous modes shows that the method of energy factor is continuous. This result can be used to understand how much energy is processed in these converters.
