Abstract

A new chiral monooxoruthenium(IV) complex containing 2,6-bis[(4S,7R)-7,8,8- trimethyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-4,7-methanoindazol-2-yl]pyridine and 2,2′-bipyridine ligands is prepared and the X-ray crystal structure of its RuII-OH2precusor determined; this RuIV=O complex catalyses epoxidation of unfunctionalized alkenes with promising enantioselectivity.
