Abstract

This study aims to construct a tourism enterprise integrity dimension model and develop a scale from the employee perspective using a mixed-method approach. Using grounded theory, we explore the dimensions of tourism enterprise integrity based on employees’ perceptions. Drawing on the interview data, 16 measurement items that fall under four dimensions are extracted and an initial scale is compiled. This study further uses the quantitative method to develop a scale of tourism enterprise integrity as perceived by employees. The results show that tourism enterprise integrity is a second-order four-dimensional structure that includes system integrity, contract performance, integrity culture, and leadership integrity. This study enriches the extant literature on enterprise integrity by tapping into the context of tourism industry and generating an industry-specific measurement tool for tourism enterprises, whose reputation as employers is often not desirable. The study lays a theoretical foundation for further research on enterprise image and employee management.
