Abstract
The electron beam induced light emission and conduction of charge in ZnO was studied by the use of an AlOxlayer. Single-crystalline ZnO nanowires and nanoribbons were grown by a hydrothermal method in an autoclave. Electron irradiation and cathodeluminescence measurements were carried out on a Cambridge scanning electron miocroscope. Structural characterization of the compound was carried out by transmission electron microscopic technique.
