Abstract

In this paper a method for electromagnetic transient simulation of long distance high voltage alternating current (HVAC) power transmission line with uniform distributed parameters is put forward and the presented method is applied to dispatcher training simulator (DTS). To ensure the speed and accuracy of simulation an electromagnetic transient model for long distance HVAC transmission line with uniform distributed parameters is adopted and the hybrid transient simulation method in ordinary electromechanical transient model is still applied to the simulation of other parts of the power network. The results from simple calculation examples and practical examples show that the presented method is correct and effective.
