Abstract

This letter proposes an efficiency ranking-based evolutionary algorithm (EREA) to directly gauge the most efficient decision-making units (DMUs) for power system planning and operation. An efficiency-oriented fitness assignment strategy based on data envelopment analysis (DEA) is used to guide the iteration process of evolutionary algorithm (EA). Case studies show that the most efficient DMUs for reactive power dispatch can be successfully found by the EREA, indicating the effectiveness of the proposed EREA algorithm.
