Efficacy of LP-modes' description in the design analysis of hollow optical fiber based components

Abstract

Modal characteristics of hollow optical fibers are investigated using scalar and vectorial solutions. We find that LP-modes' description is accurate enough for analyzing practical components, and to explore new possibilities with this fiber.
