Abstract

The effect of group delay ripple was studied on the properties of dispersion managed (DM) solitons in grating compensated DM systems. The full width at half maximum intensity (FWHM) graphs of the DM solitons measured at the mid-point and at the end of the fiber segment were also investigated. It was found that the intersymbol interference (ISI) induced by the group delay ripple did not appear for a sufficiently large ripple period, for a given DM soliton energy.
