Abstract

This paper is an attempt to discuss the effects of the characteristics (accuracy, number, and distribution) of the set of check points used for experimental tests of DTM accuracy on the resulting accuracy figures. In this paper, first of all, the concept of reliability in the context of DTM accuracy tests is introduced and alternative measures for this are sketched. Then, the effects of the characteristics of a set of check points on the DTM accuracy estimates are investigated both through a theoretical analysis and by experimental tests. -Author
