Abstract

The relation between resistance and strain of Stainless Steel (SS) fabric in its different structures were studied through tensile experiments. It is found that the resistance change of the fabric depends on the structure. The decrease of the loop shift and the increase of the change of the contact resistance between yarns are beneficial to improving the repeatation and sensitivity of the relative resistance for the fabric. On the other hand, the relative resistance change depends on the loading condition, such as the maximum cycle strain and loading speed in actual operation.
