Abstract

Adaptive modulation is an effective scheme to observably improve the performance of interactive video data transmission over mobile wireless channels. However, its effectiveness is greatly affected by the accuracy of the channel quality estimation. With the measurements of extra bit error rate cost (EBC) and potential theoretical channel capacity loss (PTCCL), we analyze in this paper the effect of channel quality estimation error on the performance of interactive mobile video system using adaptive modulation scheme.
