Abstract

The dynamic gain control for Raman fiber amplifier was investigated using theoretical simulation technique. The pumps and lasing light were used to counterpropagate against the signals to compress the channel crosstalk in dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems. The results show that the optimal lasing wanelength is dependent on the Raman gain profile, fiber length and pump powers.
