Abstract

In aviation equipment maintenance, the supply of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) materials is a critical factor in guaranteeing the efficient implementation of maintenance work. Due to the instability of MRO material demand, some aviation maintenance enterprises usually hold high inventory levels to ensure robust maintenance support capabilities. However, the large volume and diverse technical indicators of MRO materials make it difficult to precisely identify these materials and synchronize their status in a timely way, which in turn hampers the efficiency of MRO supply. To address the issues of the difficulty in accurately identifying MRO materials and delayed status updates in the warehousing management, this paper proposes a digital twin-based full lifecycle warehousing system for MRO materials, leveraging the internet of things (IoT) for real-time data collection and integrating digital twin with human-machine collaboration to enable material feature extraction and rapid status identification and synchronization. The application of this system in a large aviation maintenance enterprise demonstrates a 25% reduction in total inventory and a 19% increase in distribution rate, significantly enhancing the efficiency and reliability of MRO material management.
