Abstract

This paper presents a new digital simlation approach for closed loop PWM inverter drive system. The main features of this approach lie in: (i) its suitability for closed loop PWM inverter drive system with any control law, and (ii) providing real time control simulation, since both the modulation index and the frequency ratio of a PWM scheme are considered to be real time variables. This simulation approach was used to study the steady state and dynamic performance of a PWM inverter-induct ion motor closed loop drive system for electric vehicles.
